Writing multiple choice exams can be challe nging. What characteristics make "good" multiple choice questions good? Wh at characteristics of exam questions should typically be avoided? What is an appropriate balance of question difficulty across the exam? After the e xam\, what characteristics may help decide whether to keep or throw out a question? This session will explore these topics and provide an opportunit y for participants to review their own questions using these principles of best practice.
